Q

What is a low FODMAP diet?

A

A no Fermentable oligo- di- mono- and polyols diet

These are natural sugars that can’t be absorbed and act as laxatives. They sit in the gut and ferment the bowel, causing loose stools.
E.g. lactulose which acts as a laxative and is used in constipation
