Drug interactions w/ thyroid drugs
A
Anti-coagulants
Anti-epileptics
Don’t take w/ Iron supplements // Separate at least 2 hours

Myxedema Coma
A
- Avoid stressful events
- Wear ID bracelet that says she has hypothyroidism
- Take medication at the same time every day

Myxedema Coma
A
- Unresponsiveness or lethargy that results from severe or neglected hypothyroidism.
- Marked by neuro dysfunction
- This is a crisis and requires thyroid and adrenocortical hormones, fluids, and glucose

When to hold Thyroid Medication
A
Hold dose if resting HR is >100 bpm

A
Autoimmune illness in which inflammation, followed by destruction and fibrosis of the thyroid gland resulting in hypothyroidism
