Hypothesis Testing Flashcards
assess whether the sample data is consistent with the hypothesis made about the statistical population
Hypothesis Testing
predicts that there is no difference between the groups being studied
if population mean is equal to hypothesized mean
Null Hypothesis
predicts that there will be difference between the groups being studied
Alternative Hypothesis
where the sample results that could lead to rejection of the null hypothesis is are only those from particular direction
One Tailed Test/ Directional Hypothesis
determine if there is a relationship between variables in either direction
where results in either direction can lead to rejection of null hypothesis
Two tailed test / Non- directional hypothesis
