What is a hypothesis?
A
A testable statement about what is likely to happen in the experiment.

What is a Null hypothesis?
A
- A default prediction of the outcome of the experiment (safety net).

What is a directional hypothesis?
A
- A hypothesis used when the direction of the results can be predicted.

What is a non-directional hypothesis?
A
- Used when the difference can be predicted, but not the direction that it will go in.

What is an alternative hypothesis?
A
States that there is a relationship between two variables being studied (one variable has an effect on the other).

A
Predicts what change(s) will take place in the DV when the IV is manipulated.
