decreased platelets and WBC (due to sequestration of the spleen)

A
ST elevation QT prolongation 1st degree heart block J waves bradycardia atrial and ventricular arrhythmia

at what temperature is hypothermia?
A
mild 32-35 degrees
severe < 32 degrees

how would you manage hypothermia?
A
remove patient from cold environment
remove any wet clothes
warming blankets
warm IV fluids or applying forced warm air directly into the body

what complication can occur with rapid rewarming?
A
peripheral vasodilatation resulting in shock
in an emergency be prepared to conduct CPR and avoid IV drugs if possible
