A

hydrocortisone 20-30 mg per day
given in 2-3 doses with majority given in the morning

fludrocortisone 50-300mg per day

dihydroepiandrogesterone sulphate (DHES)

A

glucocorticoids should be doubled

what is the management for addisonian crisis?

A

hydrocortisone sodium succinate / phosphate 100mg (50-100mg children > 6yrs)

fluid (add 5% dextrose to normal saline for glucose control)

don’t require fludrocortisone as high dose hydrocortisone has mineralocorticoid affect
