What causes hypokalaemia?

A

GI losses:

  • Diarrhoea
  • Vomiting

Renal losses:

  • Diuretics
  • XS mineralocorticoids

Intracellular shift:

  • B2-adrenergic stimulation
  • Insulin
  • Alkalosis
