Calcium gluconate (hyper K)

A

60-100mg/kg slow
- usual dose = 1-3g for cardiac membrane stabilization
- can go in peripheral line

Calcium chloride dose (hyper K)

A

20mg/kg (slow)
- usual dose = 1g
- alternate to calcium gluconate - if you have a central line

Beta agonst dose (hyper K)

A

Albuterol 10-20mg over 20-60 min
- this is the fastest shifting agent

Bicarb dose (hyper K)

A

Starting dose: 1 amp or 1mEq/kg
- 50 mEq/amp

This is controversial - consider if they have acidosis
