How does it present?
A
Often asymptomatic Bone pain Weight loss Nausea and vomiting Tiredness

How does hyperparathyroidism present in investigations?
A
Hypercalcaemia in presence of high or non-suppressed PTH

What is the usual pathophysiology?
A
Insufficient calcium excretion from kidney or,
Hyperparathyroidism causes excess release of PTH

What is the management?
A
If due to parathyroid, parathyroidectomy or calcimimetic drugs

What are the complications?
A
Osteoporosis
Kidney stones
