Hydraulics Flashcards
1
Q
Possible symptoms:
- PRI SERVO P warning light illuminated.
- SERVO JAM warning light illuminated.
- LIMIT lights illuminated (may not illuminate during reduced power flight).
- HYD2 press less than 720 psi.
- SERVO LIMIT annunciation on VEMD caution/fuel pg.
- High-pitched noise from transmission area.
- Stiffness in flight control pedals.
- Feedback in pedals.
A
PRIMARY HYDRAULIC (HYD2) SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
Corrective action:
- CRUISE AIRSPEED - 75 TO 100 KIAS.
- Avoid abrupt maneuvers.
- Land as soon as practicable.
2
Q
Possible symptoms:
- SEC SERVO P warning light illuminated.
- SEC HYD LO PRESS warning light illuminated.
- SERVO JAM warning light illuminated.
- SEC HYD ISOLATE warning light illuminated (if low fluid condition exists).
- HYD1 press less than 720 PSI.
- High-pitched noise from transmission area.
- Stiffness in flight control pedals.
- Feedback in pedals.
A
SECONDARY HYDRAULIC (HYD1) SYSTEM MALFUNCTION
Corrective action:
- CRUISE AIRSPEED - 75 TO 100 KIAS.
- Avoid abrupt maneuvers.
If SEC HYD ISOLATE light is on:
- Tail HYD isolate switch - NORM.
- SEC HYD circuit breaker - Check/reset only if popped.
If SEC HYD ISOLATE light remains on:
5. Tail HYD isolate switch - CUTOFF.
If wheels are not down:
- Emergency landing gear extension handle - PULL (leave handle in the extended position).
- Landing gear handle - DOWN.
- Safety pin - Install ( if available).
If wheels fail to extend:
9. Landing gear blow down bottle - Activate from the ground.
If wheels still fail to extend:
- Use external nitrogen canister via the landing gear nitrogen line T-fitting to extend the landing gear.
- Land as soon as practicable (due to limited braking ability, perform a vertical landing).
3
Q
Any ONE of the following symptoms:
- SEC HYD HI PRESS warning light illuminated.
- SEC HYD LO PRESS warning light illuminated
A
SECONDARY HYDRAULIC (HYD1) PRESSURE HIGH/LOW
Corrective action:
- LANDING GEAR HANDLE - DOWN.
- Safety pin - install (if available).
- Monitor for indications of a secondary hydraulic system malfunction.
- Land as soon as practicable.
4
Q
Symptoms:
- SERVO JAM warning light illuminated.
- Flight control loading may increase.
A
SERVO JAM
Corrective action:
- S.C. jam circuit breaker - CYCLE (pilot aft R5 No. 8)
- Land as soon as practicable.
5
Q
Any ONE of the flowing symptoms:
- HYD 1 or 2 pressure indication on VEMD goes to full scale, zero, or is blanked.
- PRI SERVO P warning light illuminated.
- SEC SERVO P warning light illuminated.
A
HYDRAULIC INDICATION SYSTEM FAILURE
Corrective action:
- Monitor for secondary indications.
- Abort mission.
