  6. TRQ, TOT, N1, and N2 decreasing.
  7. as engine spools down, additional symptoms will become evident (e.g. generator failure, ENG OIL P warning light, and engine status light).
  8. FLI switches to OEI mode.
  9. ECS disengages.
    10 Bleed air shuts off.

SINGLE-ENGINE FAILURE INFLIGHT TO INCLUDE: LOW HOVER, HIGH HOVER, AND TAKEOFF/LANDING TRANSITION

Corrective Action:

  1. COMPLETE THE BIG 4.

If suitable landing area is immediately available:
2. ASSUME LANDING ATTITUDE, ELIMINATE YAW, AND DRIFT PRIOR TO TOUCHDOWN.

If suitable landing area is not immediately available:

  1. COLLECTIVE - ADJUST TO MAXIMUM POWER, MAINTAIN NR ABOVE 345 RPM.
  2. AIRSPEED - CLIMB AT Vx OR Vy.
  3. NR/OEI - SET AS NECESSARY.
  4. ANALYZE.

If ABNORMAL IDLE indication:

  1. FCS ( AFFECTED ENGINE) - CONFIRM; OFF.
  2. boost pumps (affected engine) - OFF.
  3. TOT - monitor for post shutdown fire.
  4. OEI - set as required
  5. FUEL - transfer at necessary.
  6. land as soon as practicable.

If NORMAL IDLE indications:
3. land as soon as practicable.

                          *NOTE* If additional power is required for landing, FCS may be switched to FLT.

If ABNORMAL IDLE indications:

  1. FCS ( AFFECTED ENGINE) - CONFIRM; OFF.
  2. boost pumps (affected engine) - OFF.
  3. TOT - monitor for post shutdown fire.
  4. OEI - set as required
  5. FUEL - transfer at necessary.
  6. land as soon as practicable.
    NOTE
    If additional power is required for landing, FCS may be switched to FLT.

If NORMAL ENGINE indications or affected engine cannot be identified.

  1. land as soon as practicable.

3. FADEC BACKUP SWITCH (AFFECTED ENGINE) - CONFIRM; BACKUP. 
4. OEI - set as necessary.
5. land as soon as practicable.

Possible symptoms:

  1. FLI DEGR annunciation on the VEMD.
  2. TRQ, TOT, N1 value missing with TRQ, TOT, or N1 label in boldface yellow type.
  3. One or both VEMD screens fail.
  4. No Bingo annunciation on CDU
  5. LANE 1/2 FAILED - PRESS OFF 1/2.
  6. Cross talk failed - PRESS OFF 1/2.
  7. STAT page FAIL line: BARO

Corrective Action:

  1. Cruise airspeed - 120 KIAS minimum.

If one engine has an overheat, consideration should be given to bringing the affected engine to idle.

  1. land as soon as practicable.

  2. Insufficient voltage (less than 17 VDC).
  3. TOT digital value underscored in RED.
  4. No ride in N1 and/or TOT within 10 seconds.
  5. TOT rapidly rises and appears that it will exceed 750 degrees Celsius (hot start).
  6. The main rotor does not turn prior to 25% N1.
  7. Engine does not reach 45% N1 by 30 seconds and is no longer accelerating.
  8. ENG 1 OIL P or ENG 2 OIL P warning light does not extinguish prior to 70% N1.
  9. The N2 needle passes the NR needle.

ENGINE START EMERGENCIES

Corrective Action:

  1. FADEC CONTROL SWITCH - OFF.
  2. Boost pumps - OFF.
  3. TOT - monitor for post shutdown fire.

***** Before attempting another restart:
Investigate and analyze the conditions requiring the abort.

Corrective Action:

  1. Monitor for secondary indications.

  2. NR - DECAYING.
  3. Engine parameters - BOTH ENGINES DECREASING.
  4. Possible right Yaw.

DUAL ENGINE FAILURE INLFIGHT
( AUTOROTATION PROCEDURE)

Corrective Action:

  1. COMPLETE THE BIG 4 ( AIRSPEED 75-100KIAS).
  2. TURN TOWARD DESIRED LANDING AREA AND/OR INTO THE WIND.
  3. AT 200-FT RADALT - WHEELS RECHECK.
  4. AT 125-FT RADALT - INITIATE FLARE. CONTROL THE RATE TO ARRIVE AT 20 DEGREES NOSE UP AT 75-FT RADALT; INFLATE FLOATS AS REQUIRED.
  5. MAINTAIN FLARE UNTIL DESIRED AIRSPEED IS REACHED - 30 KT PLUS HALF THE WIND SPEED.
  6. ASSUME 5 DEGREES NOSEUP, WINGS-LEVEL LANDING ATTITUDE.
  7. AT 25-FT RADALT - COLLECTIVE( CUSHION THE LANDING).
