Hydraulics Flashcards
Which systems are on the left Hydraulic system?
TIE:
T- Thrust Reverser (Left)
I- Inboard Flight Spoilers
E- Elevator Augmentation
Which systems are on the right Hydraulic system?
GATOR:
G- Gear A- Aft Stairway T- Thrust Reverser (Right) O- Outboard Flight Spoilers R- Rudder
3 major elements of the Hydraulic system?
- ) Left Hyd System
- ) Right Hyd System
- ) Transfer Pump
Which systems are on both Hydraulic systems?
FANGS:
F- Flaps A- Anti skid brakes N- Nose wheel steering G- Ground spoilers S- Slats
How does pulling the Fire Handle affect hydraulic operations?
It shuts off flow to the engine driven hydraulic pump by closing the Fire Shut Off valve
What pressure do the EDPs put out in HI and LOW?
HIGH= 2800-3100 psi
LOW= 1300-1700 psi
Where is the Aux Hydraulic Pump located and how is it powered?
In the right wheel well and is powered by the left Gen Bus
When will you see a L/R HYD PRESS LOW annunciator light?
When the system pressure drops below 1000 psi
At what pressure will the pressure relief valves activate?
Above 3600 psi
What order do we turn ON/OFF the hydraulic pumps?
ATM:
Aux Pump
Transfer Pump
Motor Pumps
What happens when you pull the fire handle?
- silences the fire bell
- arms fire bottle squibs
- GCR Tripped (opens)
- Pneumatic X-feed valve closed
- Hyd shutoff valve closes
- Fuel Shut off valve closes
How many accumulators are there on the hydraulic system, where are they?
6 total-BEARR
Brakes- 3-5 cycles (2 accumulators)
Elevator Augmentation- 2 pushes (1)
Aft Stairs- mostly for lowering (1)
Rudder- buffers landing gear transients
Reverse Thrust (2)
What indications will you get with the Spoiler Shutoff valve in OFF/ON/SYSTEM BYPASS?
ON (normal)= “L/R HYD PRESS LOW” not illuminated
Good pressure indication
OFF (depowers OFS)= “L/R HYD PRESS LOW” illuminated
Good pressure indication
SYSTEM BYPASS (Depowers System)= "L/R HYD PRESS LOW" illuminated No pressure indication
How is the nose steering affected when operating on one hydraulic system?
Steering to the opposite direction of the inop system will be reduced, max 55*
Ex. Right hydraulic system inop= reduced steering to the left
In a complete AC loss situation what happens to the hydraulic pumps?
EDPs= Fail to the ON/HI
PTU= Failed to last position
Aux Pump= Failed to OFF position
