Hydraulics Flashcards
When the hydraulic system is
active, what is the system pressurized to? What pressurizes it?
3,000PSI
Engine driven pumps
What is alternate hydraulic power supplied by?
Electrical motor pumps
What do both, left and right, hydraulic systems consist of?
Engine driven pumps, electric motor pump, hydraulic, reservoirs, fire, shut off valves, pressure and return filters, and accumulators
Where is each engine driven hydraulic pump located?
The right side of each respective engine
What is the electrical motor pump designed as?
Back up to the engine driven pump
What does it mean for the electrical motor pump to be:
- ON
- ARM
- Manually turned on
- activate it automatically in accordance with automatic operation logic
Is the electrical motor pump capable of supplying all the functions that are normally performed by the EDP?
Yes, but performance will be slightly degraded
Why is the EMP turned to on during engine start?
To stabilize the on side, hydraulic system pressure while the main pump spools up to the normal operating condition
When the EMP is in the ARM position when is it activated?
On side hydraulic pressure drops below 1300+ or -100 psi and either generator is operational
During takeoff until the gear is up or until rejected takeoff is completed
When the fire handle is pulled, does the electric motor pump still operate? What valve is affected?
Yes, the engine driven pump is inhibited
What is the max hydraulic temperature?
95 C
What is the preferred hydraulic fluid?
Skydrol LD IV
What is the left and right brake accumulator precharge pressure?
700 +/- 30 PSI @ 70F/21C, +/- 25 PSI for each increment of 10F/5C
What is normal operation hydraulic pressure?
2700-3250psi with 3500 max
What is the limitation for the EMP above 39,000 feet?
Operation limited to 10 minutes
