Fuel Limitations Flashcards
Total useable Fuel Capacity (Pressure Refueling):
14,620 lbs
Total Usable Fuel Volume (Overwing Refueling):
9,760 lbs
Gravity refueling only fills the ___ and ___ tanks and can take a ___ time.
Wing & Feed & Significantly Longer
How is the Aircraft Normally Fueled
Through the single point connection located on the right front side fuselage
Max Fuel Imbalance
- Takeoff-
- In Flight, Approach and Landing-
- Takeoff- 450 lbs
- In Flight, Approach and Landing- 900lbs
Is there an alternate method to fuel and are there any limitations?
Yes-fuel can be added over the wing ports. It is only added to the wing tanks, feeder tanks and the center tanks.
How many methods are there for maintaining fuel balance?
Two-X-Flow and Interconnect
What happens when the crossflow valve opens?
With the use of a boost pump you can transfer fuel from one tank to another
What happens when the intertank is valve is opened?
Fuel can gravity flow between the two wing tanks to balance
What occurs when the jettison switch is pressed?
- Switch illuminates “Fuel Jett”
- The on side standby pump will illuminate ON
- The synoptic page will show the flow path
What will stop the jettison process?
- Manually by Pilot selecting Fuel Jett switch off
- Automatically at 800 lbs fuel remaining per side
What order with the fuel deplete if all tanks are full?
- Forward Tank
- Aft Tank
- Center Tank
- Wing Tank
- Feeder Tank
Can the airplane be fueled through the single point connection without turning aircraft power on?
No-refuel/defuel panel is powered by the Hot Bus and electrical power is required
Aircraft Max Zero Fuel Weight:
28,200 lbs
Fuel Load Imbalance:
Takeoff is 450 lbs. Inflight, approach and landing is 900 lbs.
