Why does humanistic psychology differ from other approaches?
A
- Takes the view of humans being agents of self determination who have free will to make choices which shape their futures

A
They are inherently good

What is Maslows hierachy of needs?
A
Physiological needs, safety needs, love and belonging, self esteem, self actualisation

What is a self actualised person?
A
Someone who is accepting of who they are and others and leaves behind their doubts and fears

What did Carol Rogers claim?
A
- We have two basic needs: positive regard from others and a feeling of self worth
- We all have an ideal self that we aspire to and when there is an incongruence between our actual self and ideal self we are unhappy
