-Strive to self-actualise

Concept of self-acceptance
Roger - we all have two selves
-Real self (how u really are and how others see you) and ideal self ( who you want to be and who u might grow to become)
-Incongruence between ideal and real self (if ideal self is not realistic) causes bad mental health and lowers self worth.
-The more overlap between both selfs the better mental health and self actualisation becomes possible.
Role of conditions of worth and real life application
-How you feel about yourself.
-Humans feel the need to be nurtured, loved and praised without the need to give anything back (unconditionally)
-if you get this = good self esteem
-if you get conditions of worth (negative regard) criticism = low self esteem
