What are the 4 features of a human right?
They are universal, inalienable, indivisible, and interdependent
What are the 4 relevant discrimination acts and their dates?
Sex discrimination act (1984), Racial discrimination act (1975), Disability discrimination act (1992), Age discrimination act (2004)
What and when is the Parliamentary Scrutiny Act?
Parliamentary Scrutiny Act (2011) - Parliamentary Committee of Human Rights looks at proposed law to see if it meets international conventions and provides statement of compatibility/allows government to edit it.

First recognised charter of human rights 539 BCE

Corner-stone of human rights for english-speaking world. Protection from excessive/arbitrary taxation, widows owning land, forbidding bribery/official misconduct. 1215
What is Petition of Right?
1628 - Four principles:
No taxes without consent of Parliament, no arbitrary imprisonment, no soldiers quartered on citizens, martial law not used in times of peace.
What is the Declaration of the Rights of Man and or the Citizen?
1789 French Revolution - liberty, property, security, and resistance to oppression
What is the First Geneva Convention
1964 - First international treaty that covered treatment and care for sick/wounded soldiers on the battlefield
