monthly sequence of events after puberty that prepares uterus in case it recieves a fertilized egg

bleeding, uterus lining breaks down and gets lost in the vagina, uterus lining build back up again with a think spongy layer full of blood vessels and ready to receive a fertilized egg, egg released from ovary, if no fertilized egg lands on the wall then the lining breaks down and cycle starts again
what is gestation
the time between fertilisation and the baby being born

sperm released during sex and travels through the fallopian tubes, nucleus of the sperm combines with nucleus of the egg and form a fertilised egg which then divides into an embryo, this sticks onto the uterus wall and embryo develops to a baby in 9 weeks. ready to born after 9 months
