Deficiency in vitamin A.
Night blindness, xerophthalmia, and keratomalacia.
Importance of vitamin D.
Increases calcium and phosphate absorption.
Deficiency in vitamin D.
Osteoporosis in adults.
Rickets in children.
Characterised by; softening of developing bone, bow leg, malnutrition, and enlargement of liver and spleen.
Importance of vitamin B1.
Needed for aerobic respiration.
Deficiency in vitamin B1.
Beri beri. May affect systems of the body including skin, muscle, heart, nerves, and digestive system.
Importance of vitamin C.
Repairs wounds.
Deficiency in vitamin C.
Scurvy.
Importance of calcium.
Component of bone and teeth.
Deficiency in calcium.
Osteomalacia, hypocalcemia, infantile rickets, and adult osteomalacia.
Importance of iron.
Formation of haemoglobin.
