- Have them loosen tight clothing
- Open air vents
- Use supplemental O2

- Cancel the flight ASAP

- Wait 12 hrs if non-controlled (no decompression stops)

- Smoking is the most common cause of hypemic hypoxia next to carbon monoxide poisoning
- Smokers are more susceptible to hypoxia at lower altitudes than non-smokers
What are some causes of stagnant hypoxia?
This occurs when there is inadequate blood flow to the tissues. Causes can be:
- prolonged positive breathing
- excessive G forces
- heart failure
- shock
What are some signs and symptoms of hypoxia?
Signs
- Rapid Breathing
- Cyanosis
- Poor Coordination
- Lethargy
- Poor Judgement
- Sweating
- Trembling
- Muscel Spasm
Symptoms
- Air hunger
- Fatigue
- Nausea
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Hot/Cold flashes
- Tingling
- Visual Impairment
- Euphoria
