Aspect
The compass direction that a slope faces when looking downhill
Clachans
A small cluster of houses that belong to an extended family group. Often found in upland areas

An Area of land shared by farmers pre-18th century

A large urban area formed when cities grow and merge into each other
Demesne
A piece of land attached to a manorand kept by the owner for their own use. Sometimes called landlord estates

Housing estate of 10 or ore houses where more than half are unfinished

Urban settlements usually located at bridging points or a focus of routeways
