Q

Increase in fossil fuel consumption

A
  • Factories, power stations, more cars = brining of carbon based fuels e.g. coal, oil and natural gas
  • Release CO2 into atmosphere - increases ‘greenhouse gas effect’ - temperatures rise

Q

Deforestation

A
  • CO2 released when trees are burned

- Less absorption of CO2 - fewer trees to absorb the gas - leads to a build up in the atmosphere

Q

Methane - Cows

A
  • Grassy diets and multiple stomachs release methane - exhale with every breathe
  • Many cows herds are bred for human consumption - huge amounts of methane in the atmosphere
  • leads to a warmer climate as methane traps in heat

Q

Wars (bombs, atomic testing)

A
  • large amounts of dust released into atmosphere

- effects the climate as dust can reduce the insolation received at the earth’s reducing temperatures
