Wang Fang wants/likes to learn Chinese.

Xiao Wang likes to go, I don’t want to go.

A: I’m going to the store to buy a chair, are you going?

B: I’m not going, I don’t want to buy a chair.

grammar point: Expression of desire to do something with auxiliary verb 要 yào with auxiliary verb 不想 bùxiǎng

要 + V // negative: 不想 + V

要想 + V : polite way to ask ( exprime a nuance: “I don’t know if you have what I want . . . to order” )

王方要学习汉语。 Wáng fāng yào xuéxí hànyǔ.
我要吃米饭 wǒ yào chī mīfan

我们要不要买一个新的椅子 wǒmen yào bù yāo mǎi yīgè xīn de yǐzi

小王要去,我不想去。 xiǎo wáng yào qù, wǒ bùxiǎng qù.

A:你要吃米饭吗? A: Nǐ yào chī mǐfàn ma?

B:我不想吃饭 B: Wǒ bùxiǎng chīfàn

A:我要去商店买椅子,你去吗? A: Wǒ yào qù shāngdiàn mǎi yǐzi, nǐ qù ma?

B:我不去,我不想买椅子。 B: Wǒ bù qù, wǒ bùxiǎng mǎi yǐzi.

几 [jǐ] can indicate an indefinite number, < 10.

几 + Mw ( Measure Word like 个)

我想买几本书 wǒ xiǎng mǎi jǐ běn shū ( Alternative: 我想买一些书 Wǒ xiǎng mǎi yīxiē shū)

车上有几个人。 (车里有多少人) Chē shàng yǒu jǐ gèrén.

我想买几本书。 Wǒ xiǎng mǎi jǐ běn shū.

我们要不要买几个新的椅子? Wǒmen yào bù yāo mǎi jǐ gè xīn de yǐzi?

几个Shí jǐ gèrén (= 10+ people, a dozen of people) Vs 人 Jǐ shí gèrén ( = some 10s people / dozens of people)
