Outline Jewish marriage:
A
-Involves the giving of the Ketubah from husband to wife.
-is a religious kiddushin and civil ceremony that unites the couple.
-For love, procreation and companionship
-Considered a sign of ‘keeping go the covenant’

Containing the 613 Mitzvot

-213 positive rituals = jew can display faithfulness to the covenant
- Marriage is Kiddushin as outline in mitzvot
“Obey the lord” - Deuteronomy
- Circling of the groom = individual (commands of god for the couple)
- Breaking of the glass = community (shows commitment to them)

- He is the only God, central to Jewish beliefs.
- Showcase Monotheism through circling of the groom, symbolises 7 days of creation to the individual + community, thus showing belief in Monotheism
- Practise of giving the rings = symbolises unity, kiddushin and eternal marriage.

- The chuppah - cloth the couple stand on during the ceremony , symbolises God’s presence and monotheism thus fulfilling the covenant
