The major objectives the organization wants to achieve (long-term goals)

Include the specific activities carried out to achieve the strategic plan (short-term goals)
According to the Ulrich model: is a common way to look at HRM strategic planning + provides an overall view of the role of HRM in the organization, includes 5 main areas of HR

- Understanding of the company’s mission and values

- Determine current and future human resource needs
- Determine the best methods for recruiting the people we need
- Selection process
- Get to a compensation plan (most organizations want to use compensation to attract and retain the best employees)
