define harm
harm is often defined as physical or mental injury, loss or damage. The harm that can occur from drinking excessive alcohol can be both short/immediate or long term: emotional, physical or sextual.
immediate/short term harms
blurred vision, vomit, STI, hangover, headache, dehydration, memory loss, delayed reaction time, death
long term harms
brain damage, liver damage, relationship issues
emotional harms
verbal fighting with friends/peers, lying/trouble with family, feelings of regret/embarrassment/shame
physical harm
injuries - physical fights/falling over/stumbling, alcohol poisoning, car accidents, drowning
sexual harms
regret, STI, unprotected sex, rape
define drink spiking
when someone intentionally adds alcohol or another drug to your drink without your knowledge - it is illegal
