How was life for workers under Stalin’s control?
The government ran all main industries. He used the 5 year plan. Unemployment was non-existent because Stalin forced everyone to work, although for very little pay. If they refused to work they were rounded up by the police and sent to labour camps.
What was the 5 year plan?
A plan devised by Stalin which every industry had to follow. In 5 years they had to make a certain amount of profit or products or else they would be punished. Because of this, many industries became much better and every single worker was forced to work to the absolute best of their potential.
How was life for women under Stalin’s control?
Women were more independent, they worked instead of staying at home and caring for family and cleaning the house. The played key roles in all industries.
How was life for young people under Stalin’s control?
Religious teaching was replaced by communism. Children undertook technical studies and were trained for hard work. History was rewritten to show Lenin and Stalin as heroes.
How was life for workers under Hitler’s control?
Men undertook military training in order to increase the army. Therefore, unemployment was reduced. Those who were unemployed were put to work on job schemes.
How was life for women under Hitler’s control?
Nazi’s believed women should be housewives and mothers only. Marriage was encouraged and single women were looked at badly. If a women married she was payed a loan. Strong, solid women were encouraged and slim women were seen as ugly and unhealthy.
How was life for young people under Hitler’s control?
They did lots of physical exercise as well as learnt a lot about German history. Girls were taught how to be housewives from a very young age. Maths was used to teach about guns, artillery and other war weapons.
