A powerful muslim family from Uzbekistan and Afghanistan who ruled over a large population of hindus for almost 200 years

Give one reason why the East India company was able to control such huge parts of India?
They provided jobs for people which made most happy and grateful
Why might Indians have been unhappy with the various British proposals to “improve” Indian society?
- Lots were uneducated and didn’t understand what was going to happen which brings fear and confusion
- English was now going to be promoted so their local languages and slowly other traditions will be pushed to the side.
- Education was going to change to promote christian ideas which would’ve made them unhappy because the two main religions were Hinduism and Islam.
Why were Cotton weavers unhappy?
Any:
- They were brutally dealt with
- Thumbs were cut off if they were caught selling cloth to other traders
- 2/3 of their income was taken for tax
- Their work damaged their health and exposed them to lots of illnesses.

Why did the Indian Mutiny happen?
Indians were introduced to a new type of rifle cartridge that was greased with cow and pig fat and they refused it and turned against the company this led to a two year war.
