RIFLE criteria (Cr rise >1.5 baseline)
- AKI and ARF are equivalent
Other criteria: can use either
- occurs within the last 2 weeks
- rise in serum Cr by 0.5
- if CKD with Cr >2.5, need 20% inc
- dec urine output
- if unknown baseline, an improvement with hydration/etc shows "new baseline" and if prior was meeting criteria then can document
