History of Intercultural communication
- Barely existed as rare contact between culture
- Conflicts were frequent leading to war
- war was accepted by the ethnocentric perspective
Ethnocentric perspective
other cultures are assessed based on ones cultures own values, beliefs etc and automatically seen as inferior

Low promotes equality in power distribution, valuing the law and regulations that everyone has to follow.
High promoted a more hierarchy leading to inequality and differences in “status”
