hormones: a chemical messenger secreted by the endocrine system. Different glands secrete different homrones, but once circulating in the bloodstream, hormones affect a number of behaviours and bodiliy functions. Testosterone is imoplicated in sexual development, but also in aggression.

Investigated the role of testosterone in agression

Took taking saliva samples of 89 male prison inmates.
10 out of 11 men with high testo were convicted of violent crimes
9 out of 11 males with low testo —> non-violent crimes
Qualitative data was also gathered—> ‘toughest’ prisonners ( as rated by their pears) had the highest testo
