Q

How are they sent round the body?

A

They are directly released into the blood and travel all over the body but they only affect particular cells. These cells are called target cells but they have the right receptors to respond to that hormone.

Q

What is a myelin sheath?

A

Myelin sheath is a electrical insulator along the axon which helps stop the impulse getting lost and also speeds up the electrical impulse.

Q

Why are neurones long?

A

So the impulse is passed quicker because if you had lots of small ones connecting with another neurone it would slow it down.
