Where is ADH made and what does it do?
Made in the pituitary gland (in the brain)
It controls water content by increasing permeability of kidney tubules.
Where is adrenaline made and what does it do?
Made in the adrenal glands (top of kidney)
It readies the body by increasing heart rate, blood flow to muscles and blood sugar level
Where is insulin made and what does it do?
Made in the pancreas
It controls blood sugar level by stimulating the liver to convert glucose into glycogen for storage
Where is testosterone made and what does it do?
Made in the testes
It’s the male sex hormone and promotes purity characteristics
Where is progesterone made and what does it do?
It’s made in the ovaries
Supports pregnancy and maintains the lining of the uterus
Where is oestrogen made and what does it do?
Made in the ovaries
Main female sex hormone controls menstrual cycle and promotes puberty characteristics
