A
  • Initially the large brown filled site of old steel work, dumped heavy metals into the creek and over time harmful chemicals (mercury and lead) seeped into the soil, contaminating the land
  • In turn the project implemented waste management strategies and environmental reclamation to cleanse and stabilise the environment
  • Mt Carrington a man-made hill was constructed to contain the contaminated soil and rubble underneath it, with a 3-4 clean cap of clean soil above the waste.
