what is the role of motor neuron?
sends electrical impulses from cns to effectors(muscles/ glands) to contract or release hormones
what is the role of sensory neuron?
to carry information from receptors to central nervous system
what are the two components of the central nervous system?
brain and spinal chord
what is the role of relay neuron?
to connect sensory and motor neuron
what is a synapse?
where an electrical signal is temporarily converted into a chemical so it can be passed between different nerve cells
what is the role of endocrine system?
to allow different parts of our body to communicate with each other through releasing hormones.
where is the pituitary gland( master gland) located?
attached to the brain
what is the thyroid gland?
produces thyroxine, which regulates rate of metabolism and growth and development, it is located in our neck.
what is meant my negative feedback?
an automatic system that keeps your internal environment stable using a mechanism called negative feedback.
where and what is the role of adrenal glands?
. located just on top of our kidneys
. to release a hormone called adrenaline to stimulate a fight or flight response, causing heart rate and blood pressure to increase.
where and what is the role of the pancreas?

what is the role of testes?
only found in males and its role is to produce testosterone, which controls puberty
what is the role of ovaries?
. to produce oestrogen, which influences puberty and the menstrual cycle and holds female gametes (egg cells)
