- Penitential psalms remembering one’s sin is read
- It is tradition to eat spiced buns

- Christians remember when Jesus rose from his tomb
- Worshipers wait up late to pray
- Candles and bonfires are lit
- Light of hope or evil

- Christians remember women came to the empty tomb and they met the risen Jesus
- People attend church for special services
- The reading in the church recall when the disciples met the risen Jesus
- There are joyful hymns celebrating Jesus’ resurrection
- The minister greets the people by saying he has risen
- The people respond he has risen indeed, Hallelujah
- The church is filled with flowers and eggs represent hope new life and eternal life

- On Christmas day Christians remember Jesus’ birth and incarnation as the son of God
- People attend church to hear about Jesus special birth in Bethlehem and about the Sheppard’s that visited him
- May be a nativity scene
- Prayers remember the poor, sick and children in need
- Christmas carols are sung
- It is a time to give to charity
- Presents are exchanged
- Light is an important symbol as it hope over ignorance
- Jesus is the light of the world his birth is the sign of God entering human’s world of sin
- Jesus’ birth is a sign of Gods generosity
