What is the pathology of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
-Malignancy of the lymphatic system -Involves clonal expansion of B and T white blood cells -BINUCLEATED REED-STERNBERG CELLS
What is the aetiology of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma?
-Rare <1500/year -Bimodal distribution 20-35 yrs & 50-60yrs
What are the symptoms of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma?
-Painless lymphadenopathy* (cervical chain most common site) Constitutional symptoms: -Fever -Weight loss -Pruritus -Sweats
What are the investigations for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma?
Bloods
-FBC, U&E, LFT, LDH, ESR
IMAGING CXR: mass (esp mediastinal) CT scan
HISTOLOGY
- REED-STERNBERG (giant cells)
- Biopsy lymph node
- Bone marrow aspirate & trephine

What is the management of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma?
Localised Disease (1a IIa) -Radiotherapy to involved lymph node Extensive disease (III IV)/B symptoms present -Chemotherapy Survival rates very variable
