What is HIV
A virus that multiplies and destroys your CD4 cells and that weakens your immune system ,making you prone to opportunistic diseases
first phase getting HIV
you get it but only show a bit of symptoms sometimes you don’t
the symptoms a patient might get during the first stage
Sore throat, sore joints, swelling the lymph glands
What happens after the first stage and I don’t get treated
CD4 cells decrease even further and more symptoms start showing. Like skin infections, pro longed fever, Chronic diarrhoea
The final phase
You get AIDS (acquired immune deficiency syndrome) , your CD4 count is really really low, this make prone to other diseases like cancer, respiratory infections, skin cancers, TB, Epilepsy
the final stage of HIV
Death caused by the opportunistic diseases.
treatment for HIV
ARVS- they decrease the viral load and a give the immune system time to strengthen
strengthen the immune system- through diet
treating the common diseases
preventing HIV
- abstain from sex
- monogamous relationships
- safe sex
- avoid blood
