What is a civil war
Its a war between the same country

The royalists were king charles the first and his followers
Who were the parlimentarians
The men of parliment and their followers
What is the divine right
The king said he was chosen by God to rule so he could do what he wanted
What is the main difference between an ordinary war and a civil war
Ordinary war is between people from different countries
Civil war is between the same country
Why did the Civil war start
Because the king wanted to do what he liked but parliment didn’t like it and tried to control the king on his money
Parliment wanted to help make decisions but charles only used them to collect taxes for him

Worked for kings and queens by helping make laws, discuss wars and raise taxes

It started with James 1 and then his son Charles 1
What did the Royalists believe in
The king is chosen by god, parliment has to follow the kings commands, what did the parliments believe in, the king is there to serve his country, one man cant rule an entire nation

To please the catholics, she made herself governer not head of the church of england, changed Edwards prayer book hated by catholics
To please the protestants , she made services in english and priests were allowed to marry

They werent severly punished they just had to pay a fine for not going, became known as recusants

In 1536, Henry VIII begins to close down and destroy monasteries
What happened to the Act of Supremacy afterwards
It was abolished by Queen Mary and a new one was passed in 1559 by Elizabeth I

Why did Henry close down the monasteries
Some monks in England did not support Henrys new church, they supported the pope. Closing the monasteries was called Dissolution or Break up.
