Q

What is the plum pudding theory

A

Atoms aren’t solid spheres they have to contain negatively charged particles inside them and the sphere itself is positively charged

Q

What is the nuclear model and how did they find out it was a thing

A

The nuclear model is a model of the nucleus where it states that there is a tiny positively charged nucleus where most of the mass is concentrated a cloud of negative electrons surround this. They figured this out by shooting alpha particles at a thin sheet of gold. They expected the particles to go straight through but a very small amount came back. This showed that while the atom was mostly empty space there was a small concentration of mass
