Atoms aren’t solid spheres they have to contain negatively charged particles inside them and the sphere itself is positively charged

What is the nuclear model and how did they find out it was a thing
The nuclear model is a model of the nucleus where it states that there is a tiny positively charged nucleus where most of the mass is concentrated a cloud of negative electrons surround this.They figured this out by shooting alpha particles at a thin sheet of gold.They expected the particles to go straight through but a very small amount came back.This showed that while the atom was mostly empty space there was a small concentration of mass
