What is sciatica and how would you manage it? (4 things)

A

Lower nerve impingement of the sciatic nerve.
- assure ptx that symptoms do start to settle within a few weeks

  1. Paracetamol
  2. Light exercises
  3. Provide leaflets
  4. Assess psychological effects. (ask about how this has altered activity)
