Histopathology Practical 4 Flashcards
Bronchopneumonia catarrhalis
Normal healthy lung tissue
the round big one in the middle is bronchioli
you can also see a blood vessel
normal healthy lung tissue
Bronchopneumonia catarrhalis
airway is filled with inflammatory cells
Bronchopneumonia catarrhalis
blue: bronchitis, peribronchitis
red: pneumonia
Bronchopneumonia catarrhalis
red: bronchiolitis obliterans
inflammatory exudate in the middle ( neutrophil granulocytes )
Bronchopneumonia catarrhalis
inflammatory exudate in the middle ( neutrophil granulocytes )
Bronchopneumonia catarrhalis
desquamated alveolar epithelial cells
Bronchopneumonia catarrhalis
blue: neutrophil granulocytes
red: lymphoid cells
green: desquamated alveolar epithelial cells
Bronchopneumonia catarrhalis
epithelisation desqyamous alveolar…., type-2 pneumocytes
Pneumonia crouposa
- more severe form
- damage of vessels are so severe that fibrinogen are able to come out of circulation and polymorise to fibrin
- lung tissue becomes firm, like liver tissue
Pneumonia crouposa
rabbit
Pneumonia crouposa
inflammatory cells everywhere
Pneumonia crouposa
blood vessel with thrombus in it
inflammatory cells everywhere
Pneumonia crouposa
marked area: fibrin
inflamamtory cells everywhere
Pneumonia crouposa
weigert fibrin staining, marked area is fibrin
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
swine
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
necrotic areas
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
pleuritis covered with inflammated pleura
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
marked hyperaemia and alveolar oedema
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
macrophage proliferation in the lumen of the alveoli ( the dark purple area)
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
macrophage proliferation in the lumen of the alveoli ( the dark purple area)
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
degenerating macrophages due to APX I, II, III toxins
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
red: effected area
blue: extreme amount of blood
pneumonia and pleuritis caused by actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae
marked area : RBC
