Q

Features of RBC

A

7 micrometers diameter

  • mature RBC have no nucleus or organelles, bi concave shape
  • flexible cytoskeleton to allow them to fit through narrow lumen

Q

Reticulocytes + embryology

A
  • immature blood cells
produced by hemopoiesis in bone marrow
  • week 3 produced in yolk sac
  • 2nd trimester produced in liver + spleen

Q

features of neutrophils

A
  • circle in active state
  • prominent multilobed nucleus
  • granules
  • neutral charge so don’t stain well
