vibration, coarse touch, pressure
what do meissner corpuscles detect?
light touch and low-frequency stimuli
what do merckel’s cells detect?
sustained light touch and texture
what are krause’s end bulbs?
ovoid structures with extremely thin collagen capsule penetrated by sensory fiber
what do krause’s end bulbs detect?
low frequency vibration
where are krause’s end bulbs located?
the penis and clitoris
what are ruffini’s corpuscles?
collagenous, fusiform capsules anchored to connective tissue
what do ruffini’s corpuscles detect?
stretch or twisting (tension and torque)
