Q

What is the rubor labii?

A

Division in lining mucosa where the inner lip becomes the outer lip. The epithelium inside in non-keratinized and at this point it becomes keratinized.

Q

How can you differentiate foliate papillae from fungiform papillae?

A

9
Q

Cells that line the pulp cavity in a tooth and produce the predentin that will crystalize to become dentin.

A

Odontoblasts

(have long processes that extend out into the canaliculi of the dentin which supply blood and innervation to dentin

Q

Name the 4 types of fundic gland cells and their functions.

A
  1. Parietal Cells - secrete HCl and intrinsic factor
  2. Chief Cells - secrete pepsinogen
  3. Enteroendocrine Cells - secrete hormones like gastrin
  4. Mucous Neck Cells - secrete a soluble mucous and are similar to surface cells.
