Psoas Major
O- T12-L5 of vert,discs,spinous processes
I- Lesser Trochanter
INN- anterior rami of lumbar nerve (L1,2,3)
A- flex thigh, stabilize hip joint
Iliacus
O- iliac crest,iliac fossa, ala of sacrum, anterior sacroiliac ligament
I- Tendon of psoas major, lesser trochanter, and just distal to that on femur
A- flex thigh and stabilize hip joint
Sartorius
O- ASIS
I- upper medial surface of tibia body
INN- L2,3 femoral nerve
A- abducts & flex rotates hip, lateral rotates femur
Pectineus
O- pecten of pubis and anterior bones of pecten
I- pectineal line (posterior femur below less troch)
INN- L2,3
A-flexes hip and adducts
Rectus Femoris
O- AIIS, ilium just above acteabulum
I- upper border of patella
INN- L2, 3 femoral nerve
A- flex hip, extends leg at knee joint
Vastus Medialis
O- lower anterior part of intertrochanteric line, MEDIAL aspect of femur, MEDIAL intermuscular septum
I- MEDIAL border of quadricep, MEDIAL side of patella
INN- femoral nerve L2,3
A- extends knee
Vastus Intermedius
O- anterior and lateral surface of femur, lateral intermuscular septum
I- upper part of patella
INN- femoral nerve L2,3
A- extends knee
Vastus lateralis
O- lower border of great trochanter, lateral lip of linea aspera, and lateral intermuscular septum
I- tendon of Rectus Femoris, upper lateral border of patella
INN- femoral nerve L2,L3
A- extends knee
Articularis genus
O-Femur at junction of upper 3/4 and lower 1/4
I- suprapatellar bursa
INN- femoral nerve
A- pulls the suprapatellar bursa up as knee extends
