Increases ext and ER
convex femur, concave acetabulum
pt lies prone, involved leg hanging off table. grasp prox to patella, apply ant force prox to ischial tuberosity, perp to long bone.
Alternate position - prone, figure 4 position, interlock fingers, give ant force

Lateral Distraction of the Femur

A

pt lies supine, hands near the adductor tendons, their knee against your sternum. Lean forwards, with hands still to separate the femoral head from the acetabulum.

pt lies supine, support their involved leg, hypothenar eminence at ~greater troch. post directed force
