Hip in Side-Lying, ITB & Adductors Flashcards
Hip/Glutes
Warm Up
All around greater trochanter and in between greater troch and ilium
Hip/Glutes
Tendon Work
Behind client working from O to I (draping to greater troch)
All around greater troch (sunburst, spreading, direct pressure, gliding friction, etc)
Friction insertion of gluteus maximus at gluteal tuberosity just inferior and posterior to greater troch along femur
Hip/Glutes
O+I
Off posterior sacrum and ilium to just off greater troch (TFL and gluteus medius and maximus)
Hip/Glutes
No P+S
Hip/Glutes
Broad
Face client’s feet and work cross fiber for glute/ABduction muscles
Hip/Glutes
Drain
Can use paintbrush or forearm depending on space
ITB
Warm Up
Just below greater troch down to lateral knee
ITB
Tendon Work
“valley” between lateral patella and head of fibula
- spreading, direct pressure and gliding friction
ITB
O+I
Off distal greater troch and proximal lateral knee
ITB
No P+S
ITB
Broad
Apply at an angle cross fiber
ITB
Drain + Fascia Lines
Work lighter right on ITB as its often sensitive but increase depth just anterior and posterior to it
Adductors
Warm Up
Entire adductor area up to draping
Adductors
Tendon Work
Adductor tuberlce just proximal to medial epicondyle of femur
Medial condyle of tibia
Most proximal region as allowed by draping. May work just under it.
Adductors
O+I
Just proximal to knee and @ draping
Adductors
No P+s
Adductors
Broad
Do facing either direction
Adductors
Drain
forearm or paintbrush w/ at least two strokes on this group
Adductors
Fascia Lines
Work at least 3 lines and monitor for sensitivity (work focused and slower)
Be mindful of femoral artery. If you feel a pulse, move fof that area
Hip ROM
ABduction
ADduction
Medial Rotation
Lateral Rotation
Bent knee flexion thigh at hip
Complimentary Regions
- LE
- Low back
