A

Tests for - Iliotibial Band Tightness / Tensor fascia latae tightness

  • Client in side lying position with back towards you
  • Place hand under knee of top leg and other hand on top of hip
  • Take weight of leg and pull towards you (Hip extension)
  • Slowly lower leg to table

Positive - Leg does not fall down onto table

17
Q

Hip Joint Tests - FABERs test

A

Tests for - ROM limitation

  • Client in supine position
  • Cross the leg closes towards you over the other leg (foot above knee)
  • Fixate opposite ASIS
  • Slowly push crossed knee down to table

Positive - Test leg remains above the opposite leg

18
Q

Hip Joint Tests - FADDIR Test

A

Tests for - Hip joint impingement (anterior labrum/femoroacetabular joint)

  • Client lying in supine
  • Position test leg 90 degrees flexion
  • Slowly adduct and internally rotate the hip

Positive - Pain

19
Q

A

Tests for - Internal Derangement of hip joint

  • Client laying supine
  • Flex knee and hip to 90 degrees
  • Push weight onto top of knee and slowly make a square with the knee

Positive - Clunking / Pain

20
Q

Hip Joint Tests - Sacral Thrust

A

Tests for - Sacroiliac joint pain / disfunction

  • Client lying prone
  • Stand injured side of client
  • Place palm on spinous process S2 (Fingers potting up back)
  • Apply 3 - 6 thrusts with increasing pressure with both hands

Positive - Pain

21
Q

Hip Joint Tests - Sacroiliac distraction test

A
