- God of good luck, remover of obstacles
- worshipped before but events

- monkey warrior
- strength and authority
- patron of wrestlers, sportsmen and soldiers
Parvati
- reincarnation of Sati, shiva’s first wife
- portrayed as perfect motherhood
Saraswati
- Consort of Brahma
- goddess of learning
- mother of Vedas
Lakshmi
- consort of Vishnu
- beauty prosperity and wealth
- good marriages
Brahma
- created the world
- created the first humans
- teaches humans wisdom and important truths
- consort is Saraswati
Shiva
- responsible for death, destruction and endings
- this is not however seen as a negative thing, as all ends are also new beginnings
- at the end of time, shiva will perform a dance called the Tandav which will end the universe
Vishnu
- responsible for keeping everything in the world going
- Hindus believe that Vishnu can actually appear in many different forms - they’re called avatars
- Vishnu comes to earth as an avatar whenever there is something going wrong that needs to be helped
Lord Rama
Hindus believe that Vishnu came to earth as the avatar Rama and killed the evil demon Ravanna. This helped bring peace and harmony to the world
Lord Krishna
Hindus believe that Vishnu also came to earth as the avatar Krishna and showed people how to live a good and peaceful life

- virtue or goodness
- aiming to live a good, virtuous and honourable life
Artha
- earning a lawful living through honest means
- also includes using your wealth to help others
Kama
- enjoying life responsibly and having a positive outlook
Moksha
- the soul joining with Brahman
- Hindus believe souls live many lives and are constantly reincarnated
- the ultimate aim in life however is for this cycle to end and the soul to be released back to God
